2011 Karate Monkey's have arrived (well, one has arrived). This has long been one of our favourite bikes because it can do almost anything. As we've mentioned here before it can easily be set up as a geared or single speed bike, it has braze-ons for both disc and rim brakes, and it can accommodate virtually any size of 29er or 700 c rim/tire.
Surly has recently begun offering complete bike builds so this Karate Monkey comes straight from the distributor with a good compliment of parts for $1630.
Of course you can still buy the frameset and build it up to your own spec. Either way, this is a great bike for everything from trail riding and commuting to winter riding.
