Riding Mountain National Park conditions update

As is their custom, our friends at Riding Mountain National Park have begun emails us their winter activity updates, including mention of ski and snowshoe conditions in the park and much more.  Read below...

Hello from Riding Mountain National Park,

We invite you and your family to join park interpreters and Friends of
Riding Mountain for unparalleled winter experiences in RMNP! Relax with
your family around a warm campfire after a snowshoe walk through the forest
looking for evidence of winter wildlife. Choose from many unique
experiences.  (see schedule)

Don’t forget
-The Skating Park and Snow Hill – Day or night, this beautifully lit
skating rink and trail through the forest is located behind the Visitor
Centre.  There is an on-site warming shelter with wood stove, picnic tables
and heated washroom open year round.

- Cross-country skiing – With over 200 km of packed and groomed
cross-country ski trail, there are many options for everyone.  Warming
shelters are located at Whirlpool Lake; along Lake Katherine, Crawford
Creek, Moon Lake and Grey Owl trails

- Snowshoeing in RMNP is truly amazing!  The beauty lies in creating your
own trail anywhere, at any time, allowing you to explore many special nooks
in the park.  If you prefer, there are also 100km of designated snowshoe
trails.

Friends of Riding Mountain Learning Centre at 154 Columbine Street,
Wasagaming (848-4037) is open during the holiday break from 10:00am-3:00pm
daily.  Stop in for hot chocolate, coffee, RMNP souvenirs, trail
information and snowshoe rentals.

Plan your next winter adventure now.....
