Product Review: Swix Tour Pack

We've reviewed this product once before, and frankly there wasn't that much info to share the first time, but Christmas is fast approaching and the Swix Tour Pack makes the perfect stocking stuffer or last minute gift purchase for the cross country skier in your life, so we're reviewing it again.

The Tour Pack comes with 3 basic grip waxes covering a good range of temperatures, a synthetic cork to apply the wax to your skis, and a scraper to remove excess grip wax, and it's all contained in the handy little carrying case you see above. It's a simple thing, but it's almost surprising how nice it is to have a few waxes and application tools tucked into a purpose-made case that can be kept in a pocket or pack while skiing so that trail-side reapplications are made that much easier.

Of course we have a huge selection of individual wax tubes (starting at $8-$9 each and going to about $20), varying in performance level and temperature use, but this simple set gets you most of what you need for just $30. Not bad, and the perfect price for gift giving.
